Eligibility Criteria for Government of Ireland Scholarship

  • Eligibility requires a first class or upper second-class bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
  • Provisional offers may be given if undergraduate results are pending.
  • Applicants without qualifying bachelor’s degrees must hold a master’s degree.
  • The Council’s decision on eligibility based on these criteria is final.
  • Previous unsuccessful applications, including strategic partner themes, are limited to two.
  • Only new entrants formally accepted to the relevant department can receive Council funding.
  • Research master’s applicants shouldn’t currently hold a Council Postgraduate Scholarship.
